THE COACH
I'm Josh and I love coaching VEX Robotics!
I coach VEX V5 at the high school level and VEX IQ at the elementary level, but my full time job (and passion) is teaching engineering and coaching my high school teams. I have been coaching robotics for over 7 years and every single day there is something new to learn. I don't have it all figured out, but I love sharing my story with the hope of helping others who are just now beginning their journey. We are better when we collaborate and share together, and that is what I am all about.Â
I am an engineering teacher and robotics coach
Â

I am not perfect, but I try my best to master the skills that matter most.
Being the leader of a robotics organization takes many skills and attributes, many of which I've learned on the go. But the #1 thing I've learned is to listen to my students and show them that I love them through my actions.Â
I am intentional every single day to show up and be there for my students. They, in turn, share this same respect and care for each other.Â
This is how culture is built.
I am passionate about helping teachers, empowering robotics coaches, and creating a supportive community
And that ^ is why I created StricklandTEACH.com, TheRoboticsCoach.com, and the FEARLESS Teacher and Coach Network (Discord Server). I want to do everything in my power to help other teachers and coaches to be the difference maker that they are destined to be.
Stick around and explore the different things I have to offer, and before long I'm sure you'll find my transparency and encouragement to be empowering.
IN THE BEGINNING
This is my teacher origin story
Before I became a robotics coach, I became a teacher. A bad four-wheeler accident, a broken femur and a rush to the emergency room did not make me give up on my dream.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Can using AI
make coaching robotics easier?
This is a question I intend to find the answer to. In the coming weeks I will be sharing some resources and videos diving into this topic. I hope you're as excited as I am to explore this!
